Postsecondary Readiness
"The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character—that is the goal of true education."

Martin Luther King Jr.
What is Postsecondary Readiness?
At Sledge Institute, Postsecondary Readiness is about way more than just prepping for standardized tests. We take a multi-faceted, future-ready approach that gives students the skills they need to succeed in the real world.
Our focus goes beyond traditional lessons and Social-Emotional Learning to include core skills like critical thinking, making connections between ideas, workforce preparation, and leadership development.
We make sure classroom learning is relevant and meaningful, so students graduate ready to tackle whatever path they choose—college, a career, or anything else they dream of.
Our goal? To set every student up for success, equipped with the knowledge, skills, and mindset to thrive in life beyond high school!
Why Postsecondary Readiness?
We know that traditional measures like test scores don’t show the full picture of what students are learning. Instead, we focus on how well students can consistently demonstrate the knowledge and skills they’ll need to succeed after high school.
It’s not just about earning a diploma, crossing the graduation stage, or getting into college. We want our students to be prepared and to persist, following their dreams wherever they lead—whether it’s college, a career, or any path they choose. Our mission is to set students up for lifelong success!
